Timely and effective communication to employees is a challenge for most organizations. For Kamps, this is made more complex by a large and growing business with multiple locations in multiple states, production employees with limited or no email access and multiple languages. So how do we improve communication and continue to our vision of “Excellence in Everything We Do”? We forge ahead with new technology and learn from others inside and outside the industry!
Kamps has recently introduced a Communicating for Excellence program. This program provides large televisions in each plant in locations where employees gather the most. For many locations this is their break room. These televisions broadcast information in English and Spanish and can be updated instantly. Information includes topics such as: new hires, birthdays, anniversaries, policy changes, safety information, quality issues, customer updates, Key Performance Indicators, plant events (e.g. cookouts), world events and issues of social importance (e.g. Mental Health Awareness).
While our Communicating for Excellence program is our newest program to keep employees “in the know”, we have and continue to communicate with our employees through a variety of other mediums such as daily huddles, weekly conference calls, monthly company newsletters, and e-mails.
We strive for excellence in everything we do! Keeping our employees informed through a variety of mediums is just one way we strive to have an excellent environment for our employees and provide the best service and quality for our customers.
