Director of Business Intelligence and Enterprise Applications – Remote

We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Director of Business Intelligence and Enterprise Applications to lead our BI and Applications teams. This role is crucial in driving the strategic direction, development, and implementation of business intelligence solutions and enterprise applications across the organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Power BI, data warehousing, ERP systems, and the software development lifecycle, along with excellent communication and analytical skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership & Management:
    • Lead, mentor, and manage the BI and Applications teams to ensure high performance and professional growth.
    • Develop and execute strategic plans for business intelligence and enterprise applications initiatives.
    • Foster a collaborative and innovative team environment.
  • Business Intelligence:
    • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of BI solutions using Power BI and other tools.
    • Manage the data warehousing strategy to ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility.
    • Provide insights and analytics to support data-driven decision-making across the organization.
  • Enterprise Applications:
    • Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and optimization of critical business systems, including Workday, Dynamics GP, and Sage.
    • Ensure the integration of enterprise applications with other business systems to streamline operations and improve efficiency.
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements.
  • Digital Transformation, Innovation, and Automation:
    • Lead enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives to modernize legacy systems, migrate to cloud platforms, and implement automation.
    • Drive the adoption of emerging technologies such as AI, machine learning, and data analytics to improve operational efficiency and enhance decision-making.
    • Champion automation initiatives, such as robotic process automation (RPA), to streamline repetitive tasks and reduce manual interventions.
  • Project Management:
    • Oversee project timelines, budgets, and resources to ensure successful delivery of BI and enterprise application projects.
    • Implement best practices for project management and software development life cycle (SDLC).
  • Stakeholder Engagement:
    • Act as a liaison between IT and business units to ensure alignment of technology solutions with business goals.
    • Communicate effectively with senior leadership, providing updates on project status, risks, and opportunities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in business intelligence and enterprise applications.
  • At least 5 years of experience leading teams.
  • Strong understanding of Power BI, data warehousing, ERP systems, and the software development lifecycle.
  • Experience with Workday, Dynamics GP, Sage, and SQL Server is preferred.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with cloud-based solutions and SaaS applications.

  • Certification in project management (PMP, PRINCE2) or relevant technologies.
