In order to support our continued company growth and customer requirements, Kamps is actively upgrading and developing its IT systems. These investments include upgrading hardware for networks, servers, and storage. On the software side, we are investing in systems to improve our customer experience and internal efficiencies.
The Kamps IT team recently completed a major overhaul moving the main IT server infrastructure from a small closet located in the corporate headquarters to a fully managed collocated data center. This project included migrating all systems to new servers and storage, architecting a new backup strategy, and replicating data off-site. The new platform provides a higher level of security, better performance and scalability to support the business as we continue to grow.
Software upgrades have been occurring at many levels as well. Kamps is nearing the completion of migrating to a new accounting platform. All plants will be operating on the new platform by the end of year. A good portion of the plants have been using the new platform for many months already. To help support our customers we have also implemented a more robust customer relationship management system (CRM). The CRM system helps our sales and customer service teams better serve our customers. Kamps has also brought custom software development in house. Internally, Kamps utilizes many systems to support our business and we assembled a team of talented developers to help build and support these applications. Having our development team in house gives Kamps the flexibility to respond and adapt to our customer and business needs better than before.
Kamps realizes that technology and capability are a differentiating factors when customers choose their pallet partner. We are working hard to utilize technology to drive efficiencies in the business and ultimately provide a world class customer experience and quality product.
