Kamps is Expanding its Indianapolis Operations to a Second Facility

·

Kamps is pleased to announce an expansion of our Indianapolis operations to a second facility this month!

With the growth of our customer base, and the addition of some new key accounts, the current Indianapolis facility has been bursting at the seams for the last 12 months. Kamps has a great team in this geographical area, and, considering the opportunity for growth in that large market, we moved forward on a lease of a 40,000 square foot facility that has 51 dock doors! We will be transitioning into the facility beginning this month, in September, with the intention of taking over the entire facility over the next 12 to 16 months. This new facility will focus primarily on GMA pallet sortation and repair, while the existing Indianapolis operation will focus on lumber recycling and remanufactured pallets. We continue to streamline our pallet process for greatest safety and efficiency.

The same plant manager will oversee both Indianapolis facilities, and, in order to make this expansion as seamless as possible, will move some of his key experienced employees to manage the second location. All the paperwork will be processed through the current location on Belmont Avenue, so the new plant will be a satellite operation for our current plant.

Below is an aerial view of the plant to give you an idea of what it looks like. The red outline is a little misleading, the property includes the trailer storage area at the bottom of the picture.

We look forward to further developing our Indiana customer base and offering top notch shipping to businesses in central Indiana.
