Marketing Your Sustainability Initiatives | Green Scorecard

·

Our top three priorities at Kamps Pallets are pallet recycling, environmental sustainability, and customer service.

Our Kamps Green Scorecard is the combination of all of these priorities. It tracks and measures the direct impact Kamps and our customers have on the environment through our pallet recycling services.

The three indicators of environmental impact in our Green Scorecard are:

  1. Trees Saved
  2. Metric Tons of Harmful CO2 Saved
  3. Landfill Waste Diverted

Customers participating in our recycling services or buying used recycled pallets from Kamps receive a Green Scorecard every year; and this green scorecard can help organizations tell a strong sustainability story internally and outward.

The Importance of a Strong Sustainability Story

Consumer behavior is shifting.

Consumers are becoming more informed about sustainability best practices and placing importance on the “environmental ethics” a company possesses before making a purchasing decision.

An article titled “Sustainability sells: why consumers and clothing brands alike are turning to sustainability as a guiding light” published by Business Insider magazine in 2020 cites two sources that highlight the importance of a strong sustainability story.

Dr. Matt Johnson, professor at Hult International Business School and founder of Neuromarketing Blog

“There is accumulating evidence that consumers are impacted by the perceived sustainability of [a] brand, and further, that consumers are willing to pay a premium for products from a sustainable brand over a non-sustainable competitor brand.”

2019 Hotwire Survey

A survey led by Hotwire in 2019 revealed that 47% of internet users worldwide said they had switched to a different product or service because a company violated their personal values. Protection of the environment was the #1 reason on the list of reasons consumers made the switch.

Boost Your Sustainability Story With Our Green Scorecard

The data included in our Green Scorecard is concrete and factual. We then package and deliver this data to our customers through multiple digital assets. These digital assets include an official Kamps Environmental Savings Report, Green Scorecard Badge, and an easy-to-share social media image highlighting customer sustainability efforts.

When combined, these assets can help a business and brand tell a better sustainability story. For example, assets can be used in customer-facing packaging, websites, advertising, and conferences. This then creates a competitive advantage for a business.

Helps Meet Goals Internally

Most organizations have sustainability goals that are tracked internally. Our green scorecard results can help make your supply chain a net positive in these goals. For example, our metric tons of CO2 saved can directly contribute to your organization’s carbon neutrality goals. The green scorecard can also be used internally to help employees with “buy-in” on sustainable practices and help build pride in the organization.
